How Trump Deals with the Press: Contempt, Mockery, Brazen Falsehoods, and Humiliation

Read John Herrman’s great piece for the New York Times Magazine.

This is one of the best analyses I’ve seen so far of the increasingly complicated situation the press faces in dealing with Trump. Writing about the totally bizarre interview Trump gave to David Muir of ABC this week, Herrman says:

“That the interview looked futile — that questions can be answered with contempt, mockery and brazen falsehoods — was the entire point. It was a spectacle of domination and a show of force.”
